The first match of the T20I series between England and Pakistan has been called off due to rain and the second T20I slated for May 25. This upcoming clash holds considerable significance for both teams as they gear up for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Meanwhile, Shaheen Shah Afridi, the talented fast bowler from Pakistan was mobbed in the streets of Leeds. A viral video making rounds across social media platforms captures the fervent excitement of fans lining the streets of Leeds, eagerly snapping selfies with the cricket sensation.

In the footage, Shaheen, clad in a crisp white long-sleeved tee, is encircled by enthusiastic fans vying to seize a snapshot with him. Previously Shaheen was heckled by an Afghan fan, situation became so awful that the Pakistan pacer had to call security for help. This incident took place during Pakistan’s recent tour of Ireland.

Shaheen’s international career

Shaheen stands as a cornerstone of the Pakistani cricket team across all formats, showcasing his prowess as a phenomenal fast bowler. His versatility has been evident through his consistent performance in various formats, earning him the admiration of fans and selectors alike. When Babar Azam relinquished the captaincy, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) entrusted Shaheen with leading the team in the shortest format.

During his captaincy stint, Shaheen led Pakistan in an away series against New Zealand. Unfortunately, the series concluded with disappointment as Pakistan faced a 4-1 defeat. Subsequently, the captaincy reins were passed back to Babar.

Making his debut in 2018, Shaheen has graced the international arena with his left-handed bowling prowess, accumulating an impressive tally of 305 wickets across 136 matches in various formats. His remarkable achievements include 20 four-wicket hauls and 7 instances of claiming 5 wickets in a match throughout his illustrious career.
