Virat Kohli, the former skipper of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), delivered a humorous response to Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter Rilee Rossouw following his dismissal during Match 58 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala on Thursday (May 9).

In the exhilarating contest, RCB set a formidable target of 242 runs in 20 overs, fueled by the brilliant 92 from Kohli and the composed 55 from Rajat Patidar. In response, PBKS launched their chase with a strong start, amassing 75 runs in the powerplay, buoyed by Rossouw’s resilient half-century. On the third ball of the eighth over, Rossouw seized a full-toss from Cameron Green, sending it soaring over deep mid-wicket for a maximum to reach his fifty. Following this milestone, Rossouw celebrated by mimicking a cannonball launch, crouching on one leg in jubilation.

In the following over, Karn Sharma delivered a fuller leg break, tempting Rossouw to slog it down the ground. Unfortunately, Rossouw mistimed his shot, resulting in a top-edge that sent the ball flying towards the long-on region, where Will Jacks completed a routine catch. However, the real excitement unfolded afterward as Kohli swiftly sprinted towards Rossouw as he walked back to the pavilion, delivering a playful response. Witnessing Kohli animatedly mimic Rossouw’s earlier fifty celebration added an entertaining twist to the proceedings.
