After RR’s thrilling three-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at The Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday (April 27) Jurel’s family joined him to celebrate this special moment.

Jurel’s unbeaten knock of 52 runs off 34 balls, featuring three fours and two sixes, played a pivotal role in Rajasthan’s successful chase of 197 runs as he added 121 for the fourth wicket with captain Sanju Samson. Not only did he showcase his batting prowess, but he also paid tribute to his father, who served in the Indian army, with a ‘salute celebration’ upon reaching his half-century.

From struggle to triumph

Prior to this breakthrough innings against Lucknow, Jurel had endured a challenging run in the ongoing IPL season, managing just 50 runs at an average of below 10 in eight matches. However, his exceptional display in this match alleviated any concerns about his form, as he demonstrated resilience and skill alongside Samson.

With this crucial win, Rajasthan surged to the top of the table with 16 points from eight wins in nine matches, establishing a significant six-point lead over their competitors. On the other hand, Lucknow maintained their fourth position with 10 points, tied with Kolkata Knight Riders (2nd), Sunrisers Hyderabad (3rd) and Delhi Capitals (5th). While Lucknow have played nine matches, Kolkata and Sunrisers have contested eight matches each, while Delhi has completed 10 matches so far.
