Bangladesh and Zimbabwe played out a heart-stopper of a game where the Tigers managed to register a win by three runs at the Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday.

Zimbabwe were struggling badly at 69/5 during the chase of 151 before Sean Williams (64), and Ryan Burl (27 no) brought their side into the contest. The duo trimmed down the equation to 26 off 12. Then, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan produced a remarkable fielding effort to run Williams out in the penultimate over, and the game turned yet again.

Mosaddek Hossain was given the task of bowling the final over, and he managed to eke out a victory. But the drama was waiting to greet both teams as the third umpire checked where Nurul Hasan collected the ball while stumping Blessing Muzarbani.

The wicketkeeper caught the white leather in front of the stumps, and it was called a no-ball. The players were called back to play that last ball, which was a free hit and an opportunity for Muzarabani to go for the full monty. However, Mosaddek kept his cool and delivered a dot to take his side finally over the finish line.

Brief Scores:

Bangladesh 150/7 (Najmul Shanto 71, Muzarabani 2/13, Richard Ngarava 2/24) beat Zimbabwe 147/8 (Williams 64, Burl 27 not out, Taskin Ahmed 3/19, Mustafizur Rehman 2/19, Mosaddek 2/34) by three runs.
