Indian left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh had a dream start in the T20 World Cup clash against arch-rivals Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Arshdeep didn’t waste any time in the high-octane clash and got rid of Pakistan captain Babar Azam on the very first delivery of his opening over. Coming over the wicket, the left-arm speedster delivered a stunning inswinger which struck Babar in front. The Indian fielders immediately appealed, and the on-field umpire raised his finger to show Babar the way into the pavilion.

However, the Pakistan captain wasn’t satisfied, so he went upstairs for a review. The ball tracker clearly showed it was pitching in line, impacting in line, and crashing into the leg-stump.

Here is the video:

Arshdeep didn’t just stop there as he dismissed Mohammad Rizwan with a short ball in his second over. Off the last ball, the Punjab pacer hurried Rizwan with a splendid bouncer and had him caught at fine leg.

Earlier at the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma had already given hints that they would look to take full advantage of the overcast conditions in Melbourne.

“We are going to the field first. Looks like a good pitch, it’s always nice to bowl with overcast conditions. Think the ball will swing around a bit, and we need to take its advantage. Preparations have been good. We played a couple of practice games in Brisbane. Time to come out and enjoy ourselves now. We were expecting nothing less than this, hopefully we’ll entertain them (the crowd). We have seven batters, three seamers and two spinners,” said Rohit.
