Toss Pakistan Women chose to bat vs India Women
18 overs a side

Bismah Maroof called right at the toss and Pakistan opted to bat against India, even as an on-and-off drizzle in Birmingham delayed the start by close to an hour-and-a-half and reduced the contest to 18 overs a side.
Nida Dar, who took a blow to her head while batting against Barbados two days ago, missed this match with a concussion and Kainat Imtiaz replaced her in the XI for Pakistan.
India made a couple of changes. S Meghana, who arrived in Birmingham late after testing positive for Covid-19, came in for Harleen Deol while allrounder Sneh Rana – who returned to the set-up after missing the recent series against Sri Lanka – replaced left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
Both teams lost their opening clashes at the Commonwealth Games – Pakistan lost to Barbados while Australia snatched a win after they were pushed by India. As a result, this clash assumes greater significance; each team plays just the three league matches before the semi-finals.

The morning’s light, misty drizzle – one that wouldn’t usually stop a game already in progress but stalls starts – returned after the toss to delay the start further.
