There is no denying that Australian superstar David Warner is an absolute livewire on the field. More often than not, fans have seen Warner exhibiting some jaw-dropping efforts to prove his exceptional fielding skills.

Another such instance was captured in the recently concluded first One-Day International (ODI) between Sri Lanka and Australia at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Warner, who was on the field, took an absolute blinder to get rid of Sri Lankan middle-order batter Dhananjaya de Silva.

It all happened during the 26th over of Sri Lanka’s innings bowled by Aussie spinner Ashton Agar. De Silva went down the track and chipped the ball in an attempt to clear the mid-on. However, Warner, who was positioned inside the ring, quickly moved across his right, leapt up in the air and grabbed a sensational one-handed stunner.

Here is the video:

Agar and Marnus Labuschagne bagged two wickets each as Sri Lanka managed to put 300/7 on the board. Kusal Mendis was their top-scorer with a brilliant 86, while openers Pathum Nissanka and Danushka Gunathilaka made 56 and 55, respectively.

In a rain-affected match, Australia’s target was changed to 282 in 44 overs, which the visitors accomplished in 42.3 overs with two wickets in hand.

Steve Smith (53) and Aaron Finch (44) did give a good start, but the hosts came back courtesy of Wanindu Hasaranga’s stunning 4-fer. Marcus Stoinis hit a quickfire 44 amid a flurry of wickets before Glenn Maxwell took Australia over the finish line with his unbeaten 80 off 51 deliveries.
