Recently, as per reports, it was claimed that next season of IPL will be starting on April 02. Unlike every year, in the 2022 edition, ten teams will play a total of 74 games. Due to the arrival of two new teams (Ahmedabad and Lucknow), a mega auction is expected to be held in December.

According to the players’ retention rules for IPL 2022, franchises are supposed to retain only four players with the combination of two Indian and as many overseas players or three Indian and one foreign player.

The number of predictions are coming by different players on possible four retentions by each franchise. In the same light, former Chennai Super Kings batter Subramaniam Badrinath picked his four possible retentions for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Taking to Twitter, Badrinath wrote, “My Four Retention Options for #RCB – Virat Kohli – Glenn Maxwell – Yuzi Chahal – Harshal Patel.”

In the last IPL season, the run machine, Virat Kohli was one of the leading run-scorers for his team. He played 15 innings and scored 405 runs with a strike rate of 119.46. Under his captaincy, RCB managed to reach qualifiers but was knocked out by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the eliminator round.

All-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who was recently bought by RCB in the auction for INR 14.25 crore, bamboozled everyone with his brilliant form. He scored 513 runs in 15 matches at an average of 42.75. The 33-year-old batter also smashed 21 sixes.

Bowler Hashal Patel had a remarkable season as he clinched 32 wickets in 15 matches with an economy of 8.14. The right-arm pacer registered the best bowling figure of 5/27 against Mumbai Indians.

On the other hand, the crafty leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chalal was the second-highest wicket-taker for his franchise. He picked 18 wickets in 15 matches with an economy of 7.05.
